CYJULERC SRHR ACADEMY

Advocacy and engagement sit at the heart of CYJULERC’s work. For years, CYJULERC has operated at the intersection of law, health, and community realities, ensuring that Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) are not only recognized in policy—but protected and practiced in everyday life.

This learning category is built directly from CYJULERC’s on-the-ground experience engaging communities, supporting survivors, training paralegals, working with health facilities, and collaborating with judicial actors across Cameroon.

What this category covers

The Advocacy & Engagement courses equip learners to:

  • Understand SRHR as a human rights issue, not just a health topic

  • Design and deliver community-centered advocacy strategies that work in real contexts

  • Engage traditional leaders, faith actors, youth groups, and institutions on sensitive SRHR issues

  • Navigate stigma, resistance, and silence around SRHR conversations

  • Link community advocacy to legal protection, health services, and accountability mechanisms

What makes this different

Most advocacy training stops at messaging. CYJULERC Academy goes further by teaching:

  • How to engage communities without causing harm

  • How to advocate while protecting survivors

  • How to translate laws and policies into community-level action

  • How to sustain engagement beyond one-off campaigns

The focus is not loud advocacy—but effective, ethical, and survivor-centered advocacy.

Why this matters

In contexts where SRHR remains stigmatized and treated as a “no-go zone,” advocacy is not optional—it is life-saving. CYJULERC Academy’s Advocacy & Engagement category ensures that those working on the frontlines are equipped not just with passion, but with skills, strategy, and responsibility.
